Izakayas of Japan

While in Japan, you have to visit an Izakaya – a must while in Japan. They are everywhere and are the equivalent of the go to after work spot for many of us in the west. Casual places for  after-work drinking and socializing.

This was one my my favorite while In Kyoto. Unfortunately, I do no remember the name. I just came across it as you do while waking the tiny streets. I shared an assortment of grilled meats and seafood – yakitori – with Mr. A along with some Japanese brews.

Izayakaya are the perfect place to grab a nibble or two to hold you over or can even be the main meal.
